Abstract

This study aims to describe the metacognitive knowledge of class XI students on Ipa subjects at SMAN 1 Singkep Barat. Metacognitive knowledge is the ability of students to understand the needs, strengths and weaknesses possessed by their cognitive. This research uses a quantitative approach while the method is descriptive analytic. Data collection was obtained through a research instrument in the form of a closed questionnaire of 11 statements and open questionnaire as supporting data of 3 statements. To measure the level of metacognitive knowledge of students used a percentage formula which is then interpreted based on predetermined interpretation criteria. The results of data analysis showed that students' metacognitive knowledge was in the high category.
