Abstract

Reading considered being a not easy skill to deal with. As everything need
strategies in achieving something, also does Reading comprehension. It needs an
appropriate strategy in learning process. The objective of this research is to determine
speaking strategies used by English teacher’s at SMA Negeri 5 Tanjungpinang. This
research is descriptive qualitative research which means which the researcher describes the
result of the data obtained by stringing words so that it becomes a clear explanation. The
researcher used interview structured with question that have been prepared in advance.
The data obtained processed with the help of the theory of experience that has been
described. From the two English teachers the results of the study stated that the teacher
used SQ3R, Scaffolding and QARs Strategies.
