THE EFFECT OF EXAMPLE NON EXAMPLE STRATEGY ON STUDENTS' WRITING SKILL IN EXPLANATION TEXT AT THE SECOND GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 2 TANJUNGPINANG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2019/2020
The aims of this research to know there is any significant effect on students’ writing skill in explanation text taught by using example non example strategy at the second grade students of SMAN 2 Tanjungpinang in the academic year of 2019/2020. The researcher concludes that the example non example strategy has significant effect on students’ writing skill, especially in explanation text. The test was done in two classes, those were XI MIPA 2 as an the experimental class and XI MIPA 4 as an the control class. It could be seen from the students’ post-test score taught by using example non example strategy in experimental class was higher than the students’ post-test score taught by using RAFTs strategy in control class. It shows that the mean score of the post-test in the experimental class was 72.26 and mean score of the post-test in the control class was 67.30. Therefore, teaching writing skill by using example non example strategy was more effective than using RAFTs strategy.
