THE EFFECT OF FILMORA ON STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION IN WRITING AT SEVENTH GRADE OF MTSN TANJUNGPINANG

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to see the students’ motivation through Filmora at seventh grade of MTSN Tanjungpinang. The reason of choosing the topic was caused of the researcher found the students have a lack of motivation in writing without using an animation video. Therefore, the researcher used Filmora to found the significant effect on students’ motivation in writing.
Employing a quasi-experimental research with pre and post-test, this study involved a control and an experimental group. The subject of this study were 60 students. The overall six meetings for pre-test, post-test and treatment were carried out. To find out the data, the researcher used questionnaire and documentation. After that, the collected data were statistically computed by using paired sample t-test to find if there any significant difference on the scores between the control and the experimental groups.
The result pointed out that the students who were the Filmora had significant effect than the students who were not given the Filmora and the students in the experimental group had better students’ motivation than the control group as well as p-value .008 was smaller than the .05 level of significance, while the p-value on the control group was .657 which was greater than the .05 level of significance showing that there was no significant different. It was established empirically that the Filmora have significant effect on students’ motivation in writing.
