Abstract

This research aims to describe the students ' skills in writing, especially writing the procedure text. This quantitative descriptive research is a study with the technique of writing a written test, namely the test text to write procedures to grade VII students in the state Junior high School 3 Tanjungpinang. This study was conducted with a population of grade VII Junior high School 3 Tanjungpinang and sampled students at random 25% of 128 students representing each class as many as 32 students up to 8 students per class. The results of the research have been conducted a general show of the skills of writing students procedure text is good. After the test of 32 students obtained the test results, namely 3 students with a value of 94 in a very good kuaifkasi, 12 students with a value of 75-88 in good quality, and 17 students with a value of 63-69 in sufficient qualifications. With an average rating of 73 in category B. This indicates that the first grade VII students of the state Junior high School 3 Tanjungpinang year lesson 2019/2020 have been proficient in writing the text of the procedure with the good.
