Abstract

This study aims to determine the intrinsic element in the form of a short story product assessment sheet for Class XI State Senior High School 1 Tanjungpinang City students. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data of this study are short stories and the source of research is 43 students, namely students of class XI MIPA 7 at State High School 1 Tanjungpinang City in 2019/2020 Academic Year. Data collection techniques in this study used reading, identification, and note taking techniques. Meanwhile, the analysis technique uses content analysis. Furthermore, the instruments in this study were researchers and the supporting instruments were tables. The results of this study are the use of elements of short stories students are dominant short stories students use elements of friendship themes. Whereas, the element of place background that is displayed dominantly shows in the scope of the school. Then, the dominant element of viewpoint is used, that is first-person perspective. Furthermore, the grooves used are dominant namely forward grooves.
