Abstract

This research aims to describe the structure that is reflected in the folklore of Karimun Regency, Riau Islands.The object of this research is the Karimun Regency folklore that informant have got. Type of this research is descriptive using a qualitative approach.Data collection techniques used wereobservation, recording notes, interviews, and diversion discourse.Data analysis technique using the content analysis.The results of data analysis that got from the folklore of Karimun Regency, Riau Islands (The Legend of Tanjung Gelam and Tanjung Rambut) has the structures such as: plot, character and characterization, settings, and themes.
