Abstract

Language is a very important science in social environment, so many branches of the study of the language or the use of language in the social environment.If someone speaker or group of speakers migrated to a region or state and local speakers of the language they use, there was the phenomenon of language shift. language shift is a historical event because sooner or later the mother tongue of this group of speakers will be extinct altogether.
Researchers interested in analyzing how language shift that occurred in Karo tribe community in Tanjungpinang joined in the organization Mbuah Page. Researchers wanted to see how the grammar used by the Karo tribe community in Tanjungpinang, whether they are experiencing a shift in speaking the language.
Research shows that in society there has been a shifting Karo language, it’s seen from the results of the data that has been obtained by researchers with melakuakan observation and interviews with informants who are members of the organization Mbuah Page Tanjungpinang.
