Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the similarities and differences in the morpheme of the Mamut Village and Panggak Land of the Lingga District, to achieve these objectives, in the data collection methods used interviews, listening, and note taking that refers to the 200 basic vocabulary words of Morris Swadesh. Then listening and record the conversation contained in the results of the interview with the informant. Next, classify the 200 basic vocabullaries into word classes, namely Nomina, Verb, Adjective, Pronomina, Adverb, Numeralia, and Conjunction. The research approach used in this research is qualitative research in the form of primary data and secondary data. The results of this study are (1) there are similarities in Malay Language vocabulary in the Village of Mamut and the Village of Panggak Land; (2) there are differences in the Malay Language vocabullary in the Village of Mamut and the Village of Panggak Land but the meaning is the same; (3) not all phonemes [h] in the Malay Language of Mamut and Panggak Land Villages were eliminated; (4) not all phonemes [a] in the Malay Language of Mamut Village and Panggak Land Village change [e]; (5) phoneme elimination [r] at the end of the Malay Language Vocabulary Mamut Village and Panggak Land Village; (6) change the phoneme sound [k] at the end of the Vocabulary to [?]; (7) change phonemes [u] to [o] or phonemes [o] to [u].
