Abstract

This study aims to describe the social problems contained in the film Bebas by Riri Riza. The film, which has a duration of 120 minutes, consists of six high school students who are known as the free gang. The six figures are Vina, Krisdayanti, Jessica, Gina, Suci, and Jojo. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research using a sociology of literature approach. Literary sociology aims as a mirror concept (mirror) and literature is considered as a mimemis (imitation) of society. The data collection technique used is by listening and taking notes. The data analysis technique is done by looking for scenes and dialogues that describe social problems, describing these social problems, grouping the data into tables, and drawing conclusions from the results of the analysis. The results of this study found social problems contained in the film Bebas by Riri Riza, including: social problems, family disorganization, violations of community norms, adolescent problems, and violence problems.
