Abstract

The purpose of this study was to produce teaching materials in the form of Student Worksheets Based on Metaphorical Thinking with Maritime Context on Arithmetic Sequences and Series Materials for XI grade of SMA/MA. This type of research is Research and Development using a 4D research model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). However, this research was not carried out in the disseminate stage. This research was only carried out until the validation stage without direct trials to the field. The data in this study were collected by questionnaire. The research instruments used were peer assessment, material expert validation sheets and media experts. The data were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis using the Method Of Summated Ratings (MSR) to measure the validity of the student worksheets. From the medium expert validation obtained an assessment of 62.64% with valid criteria. Medium expert validation obtained an assessment of 85.20% with very valid criteria. The results of this study indicate that the teaching materials developed meet the valid criteria, about 73.92% and are feasible to be tested in the field.
