Abstract

In the learning process, the teacher only conveys material that still lectures without the help of learning media which makes students not enthusiastic and not focused on following the lesson. The use of learning media by teachers in the learning process is the main solution in improving student learning outcomes that are less than optimal and can reduce the burden on teachers in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to analyze students' needs for the use of electronic media Pop-up books on chemical bonding material which is expected to provide motivation and enthusiasm in learning so that the resulting learning outcomes are more optimal. The data collection technique used was by interviewing one teacher at SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Kijang. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the interviews showed that teachers had not used Android-based electronic media as learning media, students needed learning media that made it easier for them to learn chemical material, and the achievement of chemical bonding material competence was not maximized. So based on the analysis of these needs, it is necessary to develop a learning media that can increase students' enthusiasm and motivation, namely in the form of electronic media pop-up books on chemical bonding material
