Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the needs of teachers and students on the use of teaching materials in the learning process and material analysis in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, namely analyzing the results of interviews on the needs of teaching materials. The trial subjects in the study were one chemistry teacher and three students at SMAN 6 Tanjungpinang. The results of the study indicate that the teaching materials used in the learning process only come from textbooks and the teacher has never developed teaching materials independently in chemistry subjects. The results of this study also show that students need teaching materials such as Electronic LKPD which includes material, practice questions, animations, and videos to improve their understanding of the material being studied. The results of the material analysis were to determine the main material and sub material. The main material in this research were the intermolecular forces with sub-material types of intermolecular forces and the relationship between intermolecular forces with the physical properties of substances.
