Abstract

This study focuses on the implementation of authentic assessment by science teachers at SMPN 7 Tanjungpinang, the research was conducted because there were still obstacles in implementing the 2013 Curriculum based on the results of pre-research observations. This study aims to describe the application of authentic assessment by science teachers at SMPN 7 Tanjungpinang. The results of this study indicate that all science teachers at SMPN 7 Tanjungpinang have implemented authentic assessment properly. Based on the research, it was obtained that (1) the authentic assessment planning was 96.6%, included in the very good category, (2) the implementation of authentic assessment was 71.25% into the good category, (3) the authentic assessment reporting was 67.4% included good category, (4) techniques and instruments of attitude assessment by 68.25% in the good category, (5) techniques and instruments for knowledge assessment by 66% in the good category, (6) techniques and instruments for assessing skills by 70.12% included in the category. good category. From the overall average percentage, the score is 73.43%, so the implementation of authentic assessment by science teachers at SMPN 7 Tanjungpinang is in the good category. However, based on an open questionnaire, it is known that there are obstacles to the application of authentic assessment, limited lesson time so that teachers cannot apply authentic assessment optimally, then what causes obstacles other than time is the number of students who are too many in one class.
