Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify ethnomatematics in the form of parts of the Natuna Great Mosque building that can be used as a medium for conveying mathematical concepts. This research is a descriptive study with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques in this study consisted of two parts, namely collection of library data obtained from library research and field data collection which consisted of three parts of observation, documentation and interviews. instruments in this study include interview guidelines, observation guidelines, and documentation. The data analysis in this study was carried out based on Domain and Taxonomy by describing the selected domains into more detail based on the mathematical concepts contained in the parts of the Great Natuna Mosque building which are displayed in a matrix form. The results showed that the parts or shapes in the great Natuna mosque mostly have ethnomatematics related to mathematical concepts including carvings (ornaments), mosque domes, drums, stair railings, shaf dividers, windows, stanchions and related mosque doors. with the concept of geometry including flat building and building space.
