Abstract

Problems faced by students in the learning process, one of which is the lack of teaching materials that relate materials into the daily lives of learners. Therefore, it is necessary to develop teaching materials that are able to relate materials into the daily lives of the learners. Students are happy if at the time of learning is associated with a game such as playing guesswork. One of the guessing games is crossword puzzles. The purpose of this research is to produce teaching materials in the form of LKPD with Contextual Teaching and Learning approach equipped with crossword puzzles. This type of research is Research and Development with reference to 4D models (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). This research is only conducted until the validation stage by experts without direct trials to the field. Data analysis techniques in this study using quantitative and qualitative data analysis through questionnaires. Instruments used in the form of peer assessment sheets and validation sheets by experts. The data is analyzed with descriptive analysis. The data obtained is qualitative data which is then converted into quantitative data using msr (method of summated ratings). Based on the assessment of material experts obtained an average of 60.23% with a valid category, linguists earned an average of 63.64% with a valid category, then based on media experts obtained an average of 68.97% with a valid category. Validation results show that LKPD with Contextual Teaching and Learning approach equipped with crossword puzzles developed is declared valid.
