Abstract

High company value indicates good performance and high level of prosperity of a company’s shareholders.the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leverage and firm size on firm value with profitability as a moderating variable on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia stock exchange in 2014-2017.The sampling method of this study was purposive sampling and as many as 65 samples were obtained that met the criteria of 159 companies that became observational data.The analysis technique used in this study is moderated regression analysis.the results of this study indicate that leverage ,firm size,and profitability partially influence the value of the company.profitability significantly strengthens the effect of leverage on firm size and insignificantly weakens the effect of firm size on firm value.The results of the coefficient of determination test indicate that the independent variable, moderating variable and the interaction of the two variables are only able to explain the dependent variable by 34,5%, while the remaining 65,5% is explained by other variables not explained in this study.
