Income, Dependency Ratio, Fisherman's Household Consumption PatternAbstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Income and Dependency Ratio on the consumption patterns of Coastal Fishermen's Households. This research is located in Tanah Merah Hamlet, Penaga Village, Teluk Bintan District, Bintan Regency. The data collected includes primary data obtained by distributing questionnaires to 56 respondents who were used as research samples. The research population was 129 fishermen in Tanah Merah Hamlet, Penaga Village. Determination of the sample is determined by purposive sampling technique. The analytical method used in this research is quantitative. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate that: 1) fishermen's income has no effect on consumption patterns with t count 0.346 less than t table, namely 1.98350 and a significant value of 0.730 greater than 0.05. 2) The dependency ratio has an effect on consumption patterns with a t count of 5.564 which is greater than the t table of 1.98350 and a significant value of 0.000 which is less than 0.05. 3) the results of the F test can be seen that the significance value is < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) and the calculated F value is > F table (15.717 > 3.08). So it can be concluded that the two independent variables (income and dependents) jointly affect the dependent variable (the consumption pattern of fishermen's households). And obtained an adjusted R2 of 0.221% or 22.1%. These results can be concluded that the dependent variable, namely consumption patterns, can be explained by the independent variable, namely income and the dependency ratio is 22.1%, while the remaining 77.9% is explained by other variables not explained in this study.
