Abstract

In the development of the business world, companies always try to maintain their
business excellence in order to increase corporate value. High company value can improve the
welfare of shareholders. With this guarantee of welfare, shareholders will not hesitate to invest.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility and
Leverage on Firm Value and the relationship of Profitability as a moderating variable in Basic
Chemical Industry Sector Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2017.
The sampling method in this study was purposive sampling and obtained 26 samples that meet
the criteria from 70 companies. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from
www.idx.co.id. This data was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis model and
moderated regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that Corporate Social
Responsibility, Leverage and Profitability have an effect on Firm Value. Profitability
strengthens the influence of Corporate Social Responsibility on Firm Value and weakens the
influence of Leverage on Firm Value. Simultaneously, all variables jointly affect Company
Value, and there are 48.3% that can be explained by Corporate Social Responsibility, Leverage
and Profitability on Company Value in Basic Chemical Industry Sector Companies Listed on
the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014 - 2017
